FBU Quarterbacks Coach Rich Bartel brings his knowledge directly from the field to FBU. Bartel currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals after beginning last year with the United Football League’s Sacramento Mountain Lions. Bartel has also made NFL stops with Cleveland, Jacksonville, Dallas, and Washington. He played in his first regular season NFL game on January 2, 2011, against the San Francisco 49ers. During that game he completed his first regular season pass, a 31-yard completion to WR Larry Fitzgerald. He played against the San Francisco 49ers once again, on November 20, 2011, while throwing his first NFL touchdown pass - again hooking up with Larry Fitzgerald.

With a big arm and a small school story, Bartel has taught young quarterbacks the tools of the game over the past four years. He has developed into one of the finer quarterback coaches in the country and his rapport with young quarterbacks has allowed him to be a favorite among FBU’s athletes.

Bartel was featured on season two of the hit MTV2 show, “The Ride,” a reality show that follows eight prep quarterbacks through FBU training, two of which are selected to play in that January's U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Coach Bartel serves as both a coach and a judge and helped make the show a national hit.
