Air 7 QBU and Football University provides parents with a unique opportunity to be a part of the FBU mini camp experience. With informed parents comes the continued development of each individual athlete. We believe that our high level training provides both athletes and their parents with the tools needed for each athlete’s success as they progress in their football careers.
Football University offers parents the opportunity to hear from football recruiting speakers during the opening session and positional breakout sessions. Parents are also welcomed to sit-in during the film session at each camp. The chance to breakdown film with professional instructors can be an eye opening experience for athletes and parents.
FBU also offers a classroom breakout session based off college and NFL training camp breakout sessions. Parents are welcome to sit in on the classroom sessions. These sessions provide parents and athletes with an inside look at what college and NFL classroom sessions are like. With the majority of FBU students moving on to the next level, the classroom concept better prepares our athletes for college football.
Football University’s recruiting breakout session arms parents with knowledge of the college recruiting process and helps prepare parents to handle their son’s college decisions.
A unique feature of FBU in 2008 is the personal attention each athlete will receive. FBU athletes will be provided with high-definition slow motion video analysis of themselves performing the fundamentals learned at camp. The video analysis breaks down an athlete’s mechanics and footwork like never before – with unbelievable High Def (HD) clarity, broken down frame by frame in slow motion. Parents are invited to watch and learn as the fundamentals are broken down step by step.
On top of the one on one instruction throughout the weekend, all players and their parents will be offered an exit interview. An exit interview is a sit down evaluation where our instructions go over what the athlete has learned and will need to continue to work on. We encourage that all parents be part of this session. This evaluation and guidance provides insight to FBU students that can be taken home for continued development beyond the camp weekend.
In addition, the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) will be presenting ”College Recruiting 101” for all FBU student-athletes and their families immediately following orientation, and before the position break-out session on Friday night.
NCSA Educational Speakers will guide parents and student-athletes through the importance of establishing athletic and academic goals, setting realistic expectations and seeking opportunities at all college levels. Attendees will learn valuable tips on finding the best college based on their student-athletes’ academic and athletic abilities. Most importantly, “College Recruiting 101” will reiterate that the most valuable goal anyone should strive for isn’t scoring in the game but scoring a college education.
Featured NCSA Speakers:
Coach Bob Chmiel
Former Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach at the University of Michigan and Notre Dame
Tim Wrightman
Former All-American and Academic-All American at UCLA. Wrightman continued his football career as a tight end for the Super Bowl XX Champion Chicago Bears
